 English language challenges

In the university I started english in beginner the last year, and this year I passed for pre intermediate and Intermediate, I think that it is a good experience, because I learned basic English in my school, so it's useful. Besides I had the opportunity to discourse in English and I can practice speaking in English. My English it's not very good, and I need practice more. And I had lucky with my three good teachers.
About the blogs, I think are very useful because help to practice the abilities, you can writing with more efficacy with the time, and learn more words.
I need practice with my speaking English, because write it's not difficult,  I usually understand the things that I read, but when I have to listen it's very difficult to me understand what things are saying. But I download a very good program called duolingo in my tablet and I practice every day a short lection,  for example about clothes, or school, or businnes, or animals. It´s useful because is entertained, dinamic, and It has a alarm that say me all the days practice! I try to see movies in English or sing in English. 

Outside the English Class, I use  my English when  I have to translate to a paper to my career, for example in neuroscience or psychiatry , or maybe when I read comics that not has traduction in spanish. And I see series in Netflix in English, but with traductions :c how to Bones, I love Bones <3, but it's something. In conclusion you need practice a lot to speak another language.

Blog Session 9

Reflections

In this year I lost very important things especially in my personal life because me grandfather died in January and one part of my heart  went with he. I don't think that this year was good but you never have the control of all things, and I broke with my boyfriend in February, we spent three years together, but this it's not very important. In the university the first semester was very good but in the second semester I had to do a lot of thing. It's very stressful because I don't have time for nothing, I live in Quilicura and take me two hours to get to the university. It's very exhausting.  But I don't forget the good things, for example I was chosen to be assistant to neurophysiology c:

Well I have a seven on a test of one of my subjetcs and  it's my precious. The course that I enjoyed this year it's psychiatry, I love this course, because it's very important for my career, and I have the opportunity to see patients. I learning a lot of things about mental disorders how to personality disorders,  It's very funny because when I am reading I say oh! I have this disorder or this? Really I'm crazy? God I never be a good psychologist ?
Well after this year, I think that the best choices of this life are made with the heart because before love is a good investment and I learned that it is good to have as projects of life to people you love not only material things. And you can stray from the path, I say maybe you can´t arrive to the top, but you  can take beautiful roads and enjoy that you have.

My summer plans

This summer  I would like to go to Brazil and visit Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, because I love the beach and swimming is the best thing in the word. I can imagine the crystal ocean and the tropical weather,   I don’t know  but I think that the summer is coming in Brazil and me there :c. Rio has a great style. I always see the greatest landmarks in the world: the Corcovado mountain supporting the great statue of Christ the Redeemer; the rounded incline of the Sugar Loaf mountain. And Sao Paulo has the north beaches of the important port of Santos – especially on Ilhabela – rival Rio’s best; those to the south, near Iguape and Cananéia, remain relatively unspoiled.

Many times summer vacation provides a great opportunity to aggrandize  your usual social circle, but in my case I prefer  quiet places with  few people, because I am not  very friendly.  I think activities I could be part of the summer  are for example get a job, or explore an interest that you did not have time in the rest of year, you have the opportunity to go to a water park in hot days when you need a place to cool down and refresh yourself.

I am going to work this summer, in Falabella or Dunkin Donuts  for three  months, Falabella it a new job but Dunkin Donuts not. I worked there last year for three monts and I was very happy with the donuts. Im not very excited right now because this year has been very exhausting.

Challenges in Education

In the last years, Chile has been trough a tremendous crisis in the Education sector. Since 2006 many students movements have claimed for quality and public education for everyone. But the protester was the secondary students, this protest was knew as "la revolución de los pingüinos"( due to the color students wear). It began with specific claims as gratuitas transportation and entrance exams to university, and soon took shape as a profound challenge to the Chilean education reform and the foundations of the school system in the country.
The most important challenge is the public education for everyone, but in my opinion the problem is that many schools are public but the quality to education it's so bad, so the real challenge is improve the education existing and implement best study plans.
The strengthening to public education will demand time, resources and above all the certainty to students have the power to make changes in the system as well try to established a notion to study can help to be a great professionally, because I think that students have a bad vision about study, they not study and this is also a important problem that impede walk to a quality education. Actually, the problem is focused with the "New most" and their promises and so much people say that the discussion of gratuity will not be resolve in 2016, because everything has been reduced to an economic issue and that is only one factor to free education.

Blog Session 6: How green are you?

The people learn about environmentally friendly practices because in recent years this term have become buzz words on commercials and product packaging. But this has been used for so many different contexts that its meaning is in danger of being lost.

Environmental friendly practices contribute to green living because help conserve resources like water and energy.

I try to recycle for example I try to turn off lights in empty rooms and I try to used products with "made from recycled materials" for biodegradable products.

I am not used a bike because I live to two hours to my university and I dont have a car and I am always walking or using the bus or the tube.

I never supported any eco-organisations,  I do not know anyway why, I only know to Greenpace make things to try to care the planet and stop the abuse to the millionaire company.

But I would like try to do something to help the planet because when I see the documentaries Climate change, Oceanic dead zones, deforestation, collapsing fisheries, air that's no breathable, undrinkable water, vanishing species  and  I think the fault lies with us.  I don't know what is carbon footprint , and I think that I don't make nothing to reduce my carbon footprint.

I think that the people in Santiago don't have a environmentally friendly practices, so many times throw trash to the street and this is so bad, missing so much things, for example, more dustbins or recycling campaigns. 

Blog Session 5 part 2

The last week I wrote about my ideal job and in this time I write about the problems associated with my ideal job. I’m studying Psychology because I have always been interested in the functioning of the human brain and the relations between brain and behaviors. I’m interested in Clinic Psychology or Neuroscience.

The problems associated with Psychology are for example, that it is a social science and it always tries to validate itself as a natural science. When trying to work in Neuroscience I have to adopt a naturalist paradigm and do research with the scientific method and I need a lot of experience. Also, it’s very likely that I need a Master’s.

However in Clinic psychology you are responsible for investigating all factors, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention affecting mental health and adaptive behavior and conditions that may cause subjective distress and suffering to the human individual.

I need experience but we have a proffesional practice program and I will try to do my best. As for the job market in the city, I can work in a hospital or clinic. Also I must have skills to establish a rapport with the patient or do a good diagnosed.

I will have to pass psychological tests, because I can't have a psychopathology to get the job. My only fear at this time are not pass the subjects.

Blog Session 5: My future job

I like to have a job associated with helping people, but I don't know, I prefer the jobs indoors because I think in the idea that I will have my office, I would like to travel a lot, although I prefer the jobs indoors if I have the opportunity to have one job that to make me traveling a lot. I will be very happy, if I don't have opportunity I will be very happy too because I think I can saving money and on my vacations I go to traveling. It's not a conditional or maybe can be but in my case I try to think that is not. I'm studying psychology, because I always been interested the functioning to the human brain, I like a lot the neuroscience and the relations between brain-behavior. Also I like the capacity to the psychologists to diagnose and understand  psychopathology. I prefer a high salary but in my case I have to stay with the job satisfaction, because the psychologists don't have a high salary as such. Yes I want to a lot of money, I think if you don't have a job satisfaction you can have a satisfaction in other aspects to life with money.  But it's very complicated the relation money-hapiness to be more exhaustive.
